Growing International Solidarity against Inter-Imperialist War

The Dawn of a new Anti-War Movement

Something very important has been taking place over the last few weeks: a small but growing band of activists are coordinating to internationally promote statements of solidarity * with the struggle for democracy, human rights and self determination in Syria. The near complete capitulation of the established antiwar leaderships in the US and UK to the propaganda of the Assad regime has left the Syrian struggle against a brutal dynasty isolated, but a growing opposition has consistently challenged this propaganda. Now this band is uniting around international statements.

Activists in Europe and the US are coming together, and most significantly, they are building bonds with activists fighting for democracy in Russia and against Putin's brand of imperialism.

This effort is the only kind of opposition that can prevent inter-imperialist war. Only an international opposition that unconditionally defends the struggle for self determination, an opposition that never abandons the defense of human rights and democracy, only an international opposition that does not subordinate moral principles to one or another imperialist camp can hope to build the international antiwar movement we so desperately need.

"Solidarity with the Struggle for Self Determination is Anti-Imperialism;

                            International Solidarity is Anti-War"

A newly formed anti-war committee has been formed recently in Russia, a branch of RAD-Info (Russian anti-war Movement - Group on Facebookknown as the Russian Committee of Solidarity with the Democratic Opposition in Syria (Group on Facebook)

Their initial statement can be found here, translated to English, Dutch, German and Italian.
